Although we try to use pictured wood species the color/species is based on availability however if a lighter wood is used and you prefer darker I am glad to stain it at no cost. 

All wood signs that are not stained or painted come oiled to prevent cracking as they age. It is dry to the touch but nourishes the wood allowing you to use this sign for years to come!
